Oregon Magnetic Weather Hub

June 12, 2010 Gadget No Comments

Image and video hosting by TinyPicI’ve always wanted one of the electronic weather stations, but for some reason I’ve never really gotten around to purchasing one. In part it’s due to the price and that I can hop on the internet and get a mostly accurate weather forecast. However, this tiny weather hub might be enough to get me to cave and purchase one. Especially since the hub can be hung on your fridge thanks to the handy little magnet.

It’s a pretty small fridge magnet, measuring 6.5 by 0.5 by 3.5 inches. It tells the indoor temperature in either Celsius or Fahrenheit, you can select your preference on the device. It also shows a 12 to 24 hour weather forecast with a graphical icon. Sure, it doesn’t show a ton of information, but for $1.49 it tells plenty of information. You can pick the Oregon Weather Hub up through Amazon.

Leap Frog Leapster Explorer

June 9, 2010 Gadget No Comments

I’ve reported on Leap Frog products before, such as the Didj and the Leapster II.

They are terrific at making portable and electric gaming/educational toys for kids in the grade school years, and they just announced the Leapster Explorer Learning Experience yesterday.

If you didn’t hear about it, I don’t blame you. After all, Apple had this new iPhone thing that they were all excited about. That effectively killed most technological coverage yesterday.

Anyway, the Leapster Explorer Learning Experience is designed for kids ages four to nine, and it has a high resolution touchscreen as well as “a click-in camera accessory”. I’m not certain if that means it can take pictures, but it can support downloadable Leaplet learning Apps such as e-Books and videos. … Continue Reading

Japanese Burger King offers customers a “musical shower”

July 9, 2010 Gadget No Comments

Just when you thought the Aquanatass was the strangest appendage for the shower, you need to hear about the musical shower.

This isn’t about getting in the bathroom and being bathed with music. This is something completely non-aqua related, and it is only located at a Japanese Burger King.

See that transparent thing over the table? This is designed to deliver music to the person at the table, and designed only to be heard by them. Think of it as a Get Smart cone of silence, but I’m not certain if this would work so well either. … Continue Reading

RC soccer boots are a definite hoot

Are you a hardcore soccer fan and love the fact that the soccer season has just started in Europe? Then you might want to check out this pair of RC soccer boots. Yes, you won’t even need to wear it to move around, since each of these boots will feature a quartet of wheels under them, allowing you to steer it in just about any direction you want thanks to an included wireless remote. A quartet of AA batteries ought to last you through two halves of a soccer match, with half-time included. Not only that, a plastic scoop accessory has been included for beginners who have yet to get the hang of the game’s physics. At $76 thereabouts

Trashlight isn’t trashy

June 9, 2010 Gadget No Comments

This is the most classy trash themed light that you could ever possibly own. Sure, trash is a dirty thing, but you can pretty it up with this little gadget. With this you’ll never again have to dump out your trash in the dark since the lamp is directly attached to the can itself. Sure, it could make putting trash bags into the can a little tricky, but at least you’ll be able to see what you’re doing.

Another added bonus is that you won’t have to go far to throw out your burned out light bulb when the lamp stops shining brightly. The trash is actually a concept design made for a show based around “Uncomfortable Conversations”. The idea is that not even your trash can be a secret with this can. It’ll be on display for every single person that enters your home. After all, your garbage can tells a whole lot about you. There’s no word on if this design by Craighton Berman will ever make it to a purchasable stage.
