Breville Hot Cup saves on energy

July 10, 2010 Gadget No Comments

Recently I wrote up a Philips Kettle that promised to save energy and give you a hot cup of water fast. However, I have to say after looking over the Breville Hot Cup, I like it a whole lot better. Granted my reasons may seem a little silly, but I imagine it’ll appeal to a great deal of others. This device boils just as fast, saving you energy, but you don’t have to refill the water quite so often.

With this you just fill up the tank and then set the size of the cup you’d like to fill. It’s all pretty basic as far as the usage goes. Thankfully, despite the simple usage it has a smart design that’ll help you save on your energy bill. You can purchase it for £59.99 or about $90 through Nigel’s Eco Store.

Sanyo Pedal Juice introduced

June 29, 2010 Gadget No Comments

Sanyo is well known for their line of Eneloop products that comprise mainly of rechargeable batteries that work right out of the box, alongside a bicycle that has a built-in battery to help you tackle those mean uphill slopes if you happen to live in areas like San Francisco. Well, here is yet another effort from the Japanese electronics giant to keep the earth green in the form of the Sanyo Pedal Juice, which in essence is a a 9V DC Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery device that will target musicians who want to find a new (and cleaner, greener) way for musicians to power their effects pedals, multi-effect devices, and mobile recorders. Expect to see it hit leading national music retailers and distributors throughout the U.S. before the month is over for $199.99 a pop

Sanyo’s Pedal Juice is said to be developed to meet the needs of both professional and entry-level musicians, where a solitary Pedal Juice battery is able to offer up to 50 hours of non-stop, stable power for a single analog pedal or up to 20 hours of continuous power to three digital pedals. This is made possible thanks to the eneloop 9V rechargeable lithium-ion battery within that does away with the need for AC power. Apart from that, it will ensure that the output voltage remains much more stable for longer periods of time without running the risk of AC ground looping noise. You will be able to recharge the battery hundreds of times, hence doing your bit to eliminate the waste and inconvenience of disposable 9V alkaline batteries. … Continue Reading

Renovo Photo Scanner offers instant data transfer

July 21, 2010 Gadget No Comments

Photo scanners are old hat, and so are portable, handheld ones. Well, don’t just dismiss the Renovo Photo Scanner as another has-been before you even know what it does, eh? This unique £69.99 purchase will not only convert your old photos into a digital file format, it will also send those files straight onto an SD memory card (which is obviously inserted into the Renovo Photo Scanner itself) so that you do not need to power up a computer and be tethered by a wire while you covert hundreds of old photos. No sir, with the Renovo Photo Scanner, you can sit down in front of the TV and watch Avatar three times over in succession while you scan in your stack of old photos, being safe in the knowledge that each photo that goes through will already be digitized into a file for future use. Of course, the memory card slot also supports Memory Stick or the MMC formats. All photos are stored in 2-megapixel resolution, which means you can’t blow them up too large down the road.

iCrystal iPhone Dock

June 11, 2010 Gadget No Comments

iCrystal Dock looks more like something you’d see in a science fiction movie rather than in your house. Which depending on your taste, could be good or bad. Frankly, it makes it a whole lot more appealing to me. Plus for those of you that like options, there are a few different colors that you can choose from when you’re purchasing the dock.

This iPhone dock from Speakal is definitely unique with the two spheres with an illuminated teardrop that lets off a pretty blue light. In my opinion the blue really stands out the best on the red set of speakers, with the other colors it looks a whole lot more subdued. If you’re not that into bright red, don’t worry this also comes in black as well as white. To keep it powered it requires 4 AA batteries. It also has a 3.5mm input that lets you plug in other devices. You can purchase this for $79.99.
